Administrator's view - for the proposition

Hello, Steve Taylor here, administrator. My view on this is fairly simple. I'm not a teacher or technologist, I don't have kids at this institution. I do however get to meet a lot of the parents of prospective attendees. I haven't yet met a parent who didn't use a handheld device of this type, or who thought their children shouldn't use one either, at least when they reach 16. Mobile technologies are here now and they are clearly the future. The question should be not whether to introduce them as part of teaching and learning here, but how to do so to get the maximum benefit.
